What Are Clear Aligners?

You’ll receive a series of aligners that are changed every one to two weeks, each set moving your teeth closer to the desired position. Clear aligners are made of smooth plastic, which means no metal wires poking your mouth and fewer office visits for adjustments.
How Do Clear Aligners Work?
Clear aligners work by applying gentle pressure to specific teeth in a controlled sequence. Each aligner in your series is slightly different from the one before, targeting planned movements based on a digital model of your mouth. Over time, your teeth gradually shift into better alignment.
Your treatment begins with a digital scan or mold of your teeth, followed by a detailed treatment plan created just for you. The aligners are worn for most of the day, usually 20 to 22 hours, and removed only while eating, drinking (anything besides water), or brushing and flossing.
